EFFECTS OF DRINKING COLD WATER WHEN EATING

 
Habit of drinking cold water after eating has been a cankerworm eating deep into the fabric of our heaths and has been recorded to pose negative effects to the body “However, this have not been scientifically proved.

Drinking cold water after eating can result to indigestion because of the relative temperature changes making the food difficult to digest, fatty foods tend to solidify when mixed with cold water, making digestion difficult and longer, this can result to acid reflux problems.

Drinking more water than usual can also be problematic because it dilutes the acid that our stomach uses to break down foods, slowing the digestion process, this can result to sluggishness and tiredness after meals, making it harder to get things done afterwards.
Water that is too cold can trigger migraine headache and can also affect those with tooth sensitivity, this is because stomachs are designed to take in food that is similar to the body temperature for easy digestion.

The best way to drink water

Even if they say drinking water after meals is bad for you, experts agree that our bodies need a good quantity of water daily in order to function properly.  Some suggest that it’s better to drink water before a meal because this gives us a feeling of satiety and helps us eat less, remember that water has zero calories and we can drink up to two liters a day.
Some people believe drinking water during meals can cause fluid retention, but the fact is it stimulates kidney function and contributes to good hydration.

To avoid the digestive problems mentioned above, experts recommend drinking water at room temperature instead of a temperature that’s too cold for the body. The fact that cold water causes problems when consumed with food does not mean that water is bad for you. It’s always important to drink plenty of water daily as it’s been proven that the body needs a good quantity of water to stay hydrated and properly carry out its vital functions. 

Drinking water keeps organs and tissues fully hydrated, improving circulation and giving the body a “push” to eliminate toxins. Drinking water every day is essential and highly beneficial for our overall health and well-being.
